Homelessness prohibiting development
PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN BY SAFIYYAH MOHAMMED IN PORT-OF-SPAIN
DATE TAKEN: 28/02/2015
In the photograph above, which was taken on a Saturday at
approximately 10am, it can be seen that the homeless man is sitting at the bus
stop but he is not waiting for any transportation. This man is just relaxing,
absorbing the bustle of the busy roadways. This may have been a very nice
landscaping view of the city area and its new buildings but even hear we notice
the presence of the homeless people of Port-of –Spain. These recently
constructed high rise buildings give a great sense of ‘development’ in the
capital city of Trinidad. With the construction of new modern buildings, it
shows that the economy can afford to better the image of the surroundings but
then there is the visually unappealing presence which takes away that sense of
high standards.
